Who is your source?

Good afternoon blog readers. I hope all is well with you today. After starting this blog on Jan. 2 and doing good the first two days, I have not posted in almost two weeks and I apologize.
Today’s blog title is “Who is your source?”
As a member of the media, there are many stories that we read or post that say: according to sources. Just today, news broke on ESPN about Doug Nussmeier coming to Alabama as their new offensive coordinator. Here is the link to the story and notice the headline (Source: Doug Nussmeier to Alabama): http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7467571/alabama-crimson-tide-hires-doug-nussmeier-run-offense
According to dictionary.com  (a source) the word source can be:
1. any thing or place from which something comes, arises, or is obtained; origin: Which foods are sources of calcium?
2. the beginning or place of origin of a stream or river.
3. a book, statement, person, etc., supplying information.
4. the person or business making interest or dividend payments.
5. a manufacturer or supplier.
Dictionary.com also listed synonyms for the word source as: 1. supplier, originator. 3.  authority, reference.
And just for the record, it says the word source can be confused with sauce!
Anyways, getting to the point of the blog.
Last week, I was entertaining my 20-month old daughter Hatlee—or should I say trying to entertain her—so I popped in a Veggie Tales movie. She loves them by the way. Almost as much as she likes Super Readers on APT.
Well, in our upstairs TV where the DVD player is hooked up, the TV has different functions. You have the regular TV with all the channels and then there are other functions. On the remote, it says SOURCE. You have to change the source—in this case from TV to DVD or whatever term it uses—to see the picture.
If I am tuned into the wrong SOURCE, if I am trying to watch a DVD and have my source as the TV, I will never get to see or use what I need to use. Anyways, I had to use the remote control to change the source from TV to DVD and guess what…When I did, there was good ole Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber there waiting for me ready to show “Princess and the Pop Star”! Good movie by the way.
Where I am going with this is, God is our source. Sometimes, we are tuned into the wrong source, getting the wrong picture on our TV screens when we are wanting to view the DVD screen. If we use the remote (prayer) and pray to the right source, we can see some good results.
If you remember, a synonym for the word source is supply.
In Phillipians 4:19, it says “My God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
The world is not the source of my income. God is my source. If we are looking to the wrong source, the lottery, our jobs or other things, we need to change the source. I am not knocking jobs. I have a job and I am thankful for my job and to get paid every two weeks. But my job is not who I look forward to supply my needs.
In Malachi 3:10 it says to “Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
We are to bring only 10 percent (God lets who keep the other 90) to God and he will bless us for is. He says prove him now. God is sitting there telling us to prove him that he will open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing on us bigger than we can contain.
I will take that. Wouldn’t you. But also look at this verse right above where God says he will pour out a blessing on us: In verse 8, it says “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
 “In tithes and offerings.
Verse 9 says: You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me.
If we get an income and don’t pay our tithes on it, we are robbing God. We don’t like to be robbed do we? I don’t anyways, so I sure don’t want to rob God.
If the results you are getting are not the ones you need, try a different source. The One and Only Source: Jesus Christ. He is the I am.
Yesterday at church, I heard a song that I have never heard of and liked it a lot. Come to find out it is by Eddie James and is called “I Am”. Here are the lyrics:
[Verse 1]
I Am the Lord, I'm the Almighty God
I Am the One for whom nothing is too hard
I Am the Shepherd and I Am the Door
I Am the Good News to the bound and the poor

[Chorus]
I Am, I Am
I Am, I Am

[Verse 2]
I Am the Righteous One and I Am the Lamb
I Am the Ram in the bush for Abraham
I Am the ultimate Sacrifice for sin
I Am your Redeemer, the Beginning and the End

[Chorus]
I Am, I Am
I Am, I Am

[Verse 3]
I Am Jehovah (choir sings)
And I Am the King
I Am Messiah, David's offspring
I Am your High Priest and I Am the Christ
I Am the Resurrection, I Am the Light

(choir sings)

[Chorus]
I Am, I Am
I Am, I Am

[Verse 4] (2x)
I Am the Bread and I Am the Wine (2nd time, choir sings)
I Am your Future so leave your past behind
I Am the One in the midst of two or three
I Am your Tabernacle, I Am your Jubilee (2nd time, choir sings)

[Chorus]
I Am, I Am
I Am, I Am

[Vamp]
I Am Hope, I Am Peace, I Am Joy, I Am Rest
I Am your Comfort and Relief from your stress
I Am Strength, I Am Faith, I Am Love, I Am Power
I Am your Freedom this very hour!

[Alt]
You're my Hope, You're my Peace, You're my Joy, You're my Rest
You are my Comfort,
You're Relief from my stress
You're my Strength, You're my Faith, You're my Love, You're my Power
You are my Freedom this very hour!
Read this song and soak on and really understand the lyrics. If you need anything, God is always there for you. All you have to do is call on him and he will hear you and listen.
If you don’t know God, I pray you receive Him and ask Him into your heart. Just say this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus, I present myself to You.
I pray and ask Jesus to be Lord over my life. I believe it in my heart, so I say it with my mouth: “Jesus has been raised from the dead.” This moment, I make Him the Lord over my life.
Jesus, come into my heart. I believe this moment that I am saved, I say it now: “I am reborn. I am a Christian. I am a child of Almighty God.”
Now, thank God for making you His child.
Congratulations. You are a child of God. Follow this link to learn more about serving him and being a Christian.
