Lets try this again!

I have always heard it said that...
IF YOU DON'T FIRST SUCCEED, TRY, TRY AGAIN! 
Well, I guess that is what I am doing. As you can see, I first tried this blogging thing over 7 1/2 years ago. Better late than never is also another saying I have always heard.

After much thought and consideration, and like I said the other day in a "testing the waters" blog on Facebook, people have said things over me and about me concerning my writings.
I used to write for the local newspaper covering mainly sports along with some other news every now and then. Those days have since gone away.

Writing has always been something I have had an interest in. It just seems to flow more smoothly when you are not on deadline and can just go with the flow on your own.

Another post was posted on Facebook and things just started to come together I guess you could say. This "template" I guess you could say and see is one that was started back in 2012 when I was working at the newspaper.
I never claimed to be an awesome writer. I just try to use the talent that the Good Lord has blessed me with and I hope I am able to encourage some folks along the way.
Yes, you will find some bad grammar and misspelled words probably in some of these posts. Hopefully not too many, but I am sure there will be some.

So about the name of the blog. In 1 Samuel, there is a famous Bible story that many of us know where it talks about a young shepherd boy named David who kills this big ole guy named Goliath. In this famous passage David poses a question to his brothers who are supposed to be engaged in the "fight" with Goliath. He says "Is there not a cause?"

Affect: a verb meaning impact or change. In today's world, there are many causes and we as Christians need to be making an impact and a change...for the better. And with Christ giving us strength, we can do all things.

My favorite verse has always been Philippians 4:13, so I felt I needed to incorporate that into the blog somehow and thats why the numbers are in the blog name "Cause and Affect Ministries".

An action (affect) has to occur before you have a result (effect)
There is a cause... what kind of action/affect are we going to do/be to cause a result?

Hopefully I will be able to post more on this blog than the 3 I did in 2012. I am not going to give myself a set amount of blogs to post during the week or month. Just whenever something pressing comes to mind or I have time to just type some things out.

Well, I started this current blog on Monday and it is now Tuesday that I am getting around to posting it!

Speaking of Tuesday, July 2, today is my son Samuel's second birthday. I wish him the best. He is our miracle baby. It took my wife and I several years to conceive after our first child---our daughter Hatlee. Samuel came several weeks early and we spent some time in the NICU. But now he is a growing young man and we love him very much...as we do his sister.

Good morning! Welcome to day two and post two of The Robinson Report blog. I hope you all are doing well on this cold Tuesday morning. Well, it is back to work today for the first work day of the new year of 2012. I always joke with my wife Shari, who is a school teacher here in Brewton with the Brewton City School systems as she teaches Kindergarten. Although, I did not hear her say it this morning, after a long break like the Christmas and New Year's break she just got, usually she says something about not wanting to go back to work today. Our other children

There’s a photo on our fridge. 11 students: 6 girls. 5 boys. 1 student leader. My wife and myself. Anytime I go to that fridge whether to get something to drink or to eat…I see that picture. I do not post the picture in the blog for the privacy of those in the picture.  Some of those 11 are no longer with us. With us meaning, no more part of our youth group. I admit it hurts. I admit at times I have felt like a failure wondering if what I am doing is the right thing. I know they are just “kids”.  Ages 13-19. They have their own minds. Some are already made up. Some want to be there. Some are made to be there. You try to make it fun for them, but at the same time, you know…and hopefully they do too…that it’s not all about fun. Life is serious. Happy New Year 2012

Hello all! Today is the second day of 2012 and I hope the new year so far has been a great one for you and yours and I hope this year will be one of the best ever for you. I had been contemplating doing this for a while now and today while I had a little time on my hand watching some football games, I decided to bite the bullet. With my job as a sports editor at the local newspaper here in Brewton, The Brewton Standard, I already do a lot of writing covering games and I have a sports blog on our website-www.brewtonstandard.com. But I plan on updating and writing a blog on here as often as time allows.
